Students attend Tots classes with a parent or caregiver.
In a 45-minute Original Program structured playgroup, children absorb their target language through games, visual aids, original LWFC songs, tactile materials and more!
In an Arts Crafts playgroup, children enjoy 35-minutes of Original Program fun and then, for the last 10-minutes, get an age-appropriate arts & crafts project to refine their sense of color and texture while they learn the French or Spanish words associated with recognizable visual symbols.
In a Music & Movement playgroup, children enjoy 35-minutes of Original
Program fun and then, for the last 10-minutes, are handed a musical
instrument with which to develop tempo, verbal rhythm and motor skills
while expanding their French or Spanish vocabulary.
Tots playgroups build more than language skills. As youngsters handle
toys and visual aids, they develop motor skills and coordination. They
imagine, invent and discover. Because they interact with other children,
Tots builds social skills.
(Other than the LWFC's own structured play technique and our "hello" and "goodbye" songs, which remain the same) in every new session students are introduced to new LWFC songs and new visual aid games so that each child adds to his repertoire of French, Spanish, Italian or Chinese and continues building new language skills.
French for Tots®, Spanish for Tots®, Italian for Tots® and Chinese for Tots® brings your child into the world around him.

Children's Division students are adjusted to separation and attend class by themselves. In Children's classes students learn a newlanguage in an immersion environment through age-appropriate action games, visual aids, LWFC vocabulary songs and playful and educational activities.
Because kids over the age of three are fully verbal, Children's classes are vocal and animated. Students are more aware of each other than in Tots, so they enoying interacting as a group. Children speak (and laugh) aloud more than Tots.
In Children's classes, students start using phrases and sentences. Later, as their age and level progress, they learn stories and dialogues.
Children's classes are relaxed and happy because the students are constantly engaged in rapidly changing activities.
(Other than the LWFC's own structured play technique and our "hello" and "goodbye" songs, which remain the same) in every new session students are introduced to new LWFC songs and new visual aid games so that each child adds to his repertoire of French, Spanish,Italian or Chinese and continues building new languageskills.

SUMMER 2008 |
Le Club des Enfants, El Club de los Niños, and Il Club dei Bambini language immersion fun lets youngsters enjoy activities while discovering the French, Spanish or Italian language and culture. No previous language experience required.
Bonjour Mes Amis! Buenos Dias Amigos! Buongiorno Gli Amici!
It’s Educational and Fun! Learning French, Spanish or Italianwith games and fun is the philosophy behind the LWFC’s school break enrichmentprogram. Children absorb French, Spanish or Italian actively through LWFC structured playgroup lessons, games, arts and crafts, baking, movement, charades and original LWFC vocabulary-building songs -- new for each break.
Appropriate for all Levels. Since most children are beginners, theLWFC’s Camp-Like Enrichment program features introductory French, Spanish or Italian activities, lessons and games. But since every counselor is a native speaker they can respond to every child -- so mid and advanced level speakers can also practice their language skills.
Half-Day Activities. Youngsters begin by practicing the words and melodies to a happy new LWFC song. Then it’s off to the first playgroup lesson -- in French, Spanish or Italian-- with lots of fun and games. Afterwards it’s snack time, claywork, movement, more songs, musical instruments and more fun.
Seasonal Special Events. Enfants, Niños, and Bambini enrolled in Summer can look forward to Special Events Days like Bastille Day, Spanish Day, Italian Day, Dress-up Day, Funny Nose Day,70’s Day and Talent Shows. Children enrolled during Winterbreak enjoy seasonal activities, such as baking cookies. Limited Enrollment. To be sure that each child gets as much attention as possible, the LWFC limits the number of children enrolled in the program.
It’s Rewarding. By the end of an exciting program, children leave with a basis in a new language and the experience of a new culture.

SpringBreak 2008 |
|
Springbreak is a half-day mornings French or Spanish day camp blending The Language Workshop's unique language playgroup with indoor fun and French or Spanish culture. (The Springbreak Camp-like Enrichment Program is a separation program so campers attend class alone, but parents and caregivers are welcome to sit outside the classroom door.)
Campers assemble to draw and say good-morning to their friends. Then, they start with a French or Spanish lesson and sing-along using the LWFC’s original vocabulary-building songs. Then it’s learning through games! Everything is in French or Spanish so a child’s time is both fun and educational. Activities may include arts and crafts, movement, action and visual-aid games. Children also enjoy seasonal activities, characters, and on some days get to bake.
Midway, campers get a snack of spring water and goldfish. Finally, a mini-lesson reviews that day's vocabulary.
